Designer of the year...

Collections on top of collections, collaborations on top of collaborations and editorials and lookbooks to top them off, 2014 has brought us some of the craziest, sassiest, on point stylings and clothing  in a while but due to endless red carpet appearances as well as amazing A/W and S/S collections, I put Balmain at the forefront of this years designer of the year.

Coming to domination towards the end of the year with their outstanding A/W collection, Olivier Rousteing took almost every hot model under the sun and developed his "Balmain Army". Ranging from Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Adrianna Lima to Rapper Nicki Minaj and singer superstar Rihanna, the "Balmain Army" stretched across mediums and became the wannabe clique of the year. With such a fire collection, which saw Olivier take his usual traditional revolutionary Parisian aesthetic and structured delicate militaristic dresses to new extremes as he experimented with colour, the human form and elegance, the Balmain word was spread through a number of ad campaigns.

First campaign depicts a quardron of the "Balmain Army" showing us their prestige levels as they naturally intimidate our eager eyes.

Second campaign became big news as it saw the hottest couple of the year spearhead the "Balmain Army". GQ's most stylish man of the year and GQ's woman of the year are seen  showing their love as they lock eyes and lips donned head to toe in Balmain's finest.

To top of the fashion house's prolific year, the fashion admirers feasted upon endless flicks and pics on instagram of celebs roaming the red carpet and black tie events in Balmain garments. Below are some of best worn attempts...

From just feasting your eyes on some of the images above as well across instagram and beyond, you would agree with me that Olivier Rousteing and the house of Balmain are worthy of the crown: Fashion Designer of the year.
